Our rebels with a cause.

Everyone has that friend who somehow always knows about killer music before anyone else. Well, we have a whole bunch of those.

And they’ve graced us by joining our expert Curators team. But above and beyond their music expertise and industry experience, these guys and gals collectively do A LOT for the indie movement and we’re proud to call them part of the BoomboxFM fam. Check ‘em out below.

Rob Boffard
Rob Boffard

A music and tech writer for The Guardian and Wired Magazine, Rob runs a killer international-focused hip hop podcast called 20/20. He’s South African, but lives in Vancouver because the snowboarding there is better. 

Alex Jae Mitchell
Alex Jae Mitchell

A classically trained musician, Alex is all about helping independent musicians through the innovative startups he has co-founded, the latest being Audiokite. When he’s not fine tuning his violin skills, he's helping artists and labels better understand fan feedback through data analysis and visualization. 

Laura Dopp
Laura Dopp

From NYC to Vietnam to LA and back to Brooklyn, Laura is the well-traveled Executive Producer of One Thousand Birds, a sound design house. She and her husband run an underground series of pop-up surprise indie shows, strongly supporting the local music community.

Andrew Apanov
Andrew Apanov

Former editor of Ultimate Guitar, Andrew runs a music marketing agency, and educational platform for artists (WeSpin), and authors a video series for indie artists called Stand Above The Noise. He resides in Poland and is an occasional drum and bass DJ.

Chris Bro
Chris Bro

Chris is the host and lead curator for NEXT, having the simple goal of becoming “Grandpa New Music”. He runs a weekly indie music discovery podcast and radio show, and organizes a monthly series of charity concerts.

Sarah Saturday
Sarah Saturday

Originally from a small town in rural Wisconsin, Sarah has made a name for herself in the music industry over the past decade with an intense dedication to the underground music scene. From her years in DIY bands in the punk scene in Wisconsin, to working in the offices and on the road with the Vans Warped Tour, to running her own marketing company in Los Angeles, and then finally returning to music full-time in 2009, she has remained committed to her personal “earn it yourself” philosophy, which promotes the virtues of creativity, honesty, cooperation, humility, resoluteness, and integrity.

Luca Zanello

Luca is an Artist Manager based in New York City. With over 10 years of experience in the music industry, Luca has worked with acts ranging from International super stars to developing garage bands. With a passion for finding new music and developing bands, Luca prides himself in his ability for spotting new talent and what could become “The Next Big Thing”.

Shaine Freeman
Shaine Freeman

A 21-year music industry veteran who began his career as a keyboardist/producer before becoming a successful talent manager. Today, Shaine is the Co-Founder & Music Editor of Atlanta based award-winning I Am Entertainment (IAE) Media, where he is also the host of iTunes Top 20 ranked music business podcast, THE MIEWS.

Jess Blanc
Jess Blanc

A booking agent with Midwest charm, Jess has been working behind the scenes for nearly 10 years in production, promotions and as an agent bringing shows and musical projects from ideas to reality. Having her ear to the floor keeps her consistently listening and seeking out new tunes to develop and share.
